Being raised in an environment of learning by a woman with myriad interests encouraged Trilety to cultivate her curiosity, which has served her well.

Taking the traditional 4-year route of learning, she graduated from Creighton University in 1997 with a BA in history.  Since that time, she has worked as a partner with Barbi Hayes (also her mother) as an environmental consultant specializing in Section 404 of the Clean Water Act, and other environmental regulatory issues, at HAYES Environmental LLC.  Her work has indirectly bred an awe of the secret subterranean world of infrastructure that exists as an entire networked city beneath our feet.

Volunteering became a past-time in 2002, and since then she has donated her time to organizations such as Adopt-Elmwood-Park/Stream, Green Omaha Coalition, Nebraska Food Co-operative, and most recently, the Friends of Planned Parenthood of the Heartland.

For the past few years, she has presented lectures and workshops on the issue of environmentally conscientious behaviour, including waste reduction, local food procurement and consumption, water conservation, and permaculture practices.

Currently, Trilety and her business partner, Megan Thomas, are working together on a bakery venture, called Two Birds Bakery.  Her passion is writing and four of her short pieces of writing have been included in two of the local Lit Undressed events.
