Join other TED enthusiasts for TEDxOmahaSalon, a monthly conversation group. We watch two recorded TED Talks on a topic, then talk about the implications and opportunities. For September, our focus is education.
Education is power. The best educators inspire their students to constantly pursue the art of learning, far beyond the duration of a classroom or a degree program. Women in many parts of the world can break through the walls of oppression through asserting their rights to literacy, where preceding generations were told that education was reserved only for the men in their society. Remembering that education is an opportunity denied to many people throughout the world, and experimenting with educational innovation, we can bring excitement and life into the idea of learning.
For this salon – Emily Wolff from Wilson Focus school will be joining us as a guest specialist. Wilson Focus school is a unique opportunity in Omaha, serving few districts including OPS. Wilson bases their curriculum around a year-round school calendar, using communication, technology, and leadership as their focus, and providing enrichment classes after hours.
Come join us for an evening filled with fruitful discussion and ideas. Doors open at 5.30 pm.
