Saturday 22nd July will see TEDxOmaha Adventures exploring the world of regenerative medicine at UNMC. The pioneering gene runs deep within the Nebraska DNA. Therefore, no surprise that here in Omaha medical research is also groundbreaking and the Regenerative Medicine team forging new frontiers exploring the cutting edge of medicine and medical research as they seek to push the boundaries of science.
While that kind of research may seem remote, the reality is that there are few of us who have not experienced family and friends suffering from incurable illness or having an agonizing wait for an organ transplant. What if brain cells could regrow after the stroke, if the heart transplant did not have to wait for a donor but instead was printed on a 3D printer, and Type 1 diabetes and injecting insulin four times a day was a thing of the past? This is the future world UNMC is envisioning and striving each day to make a reality, using innovation to fight the front line of the battle against includable diseases.
Join us, as our host Jenni Irving takes us on a private tour to take another Adventure behind the scenes. We will visit the extensive, state of the art facilities dedicated to pioneering research, explore 3D Bioprinting, robotics and more and learn how UNMC collaborates across disciplines and between agencies to bring the brightest and the best together to the master the incurable diseases of today and tomorrow.
