Following the TEDxOmaha main event each fall, how, as a community, do we continue the conversation and explore ideas throughout the year? How do we keep our inquisitive minds engaged and fueled? Here in Omaha we have the TEDxOmaha Salons and the TEDxOmaha Adventures.
When: 3rd Monday of the month
Where: Kaneko, 1111 Jones St, Omaha, NE 68102
Each month, we explore a different topic. We invite topic experts in our community and those who have a diverse lens through which we can examine and explore ideas. We examine ourselves, our views and perceptions, and through watching TED talks. Then, through conversation led by TEDxOmaha Board member Adam Van Osdel, we seek to gain insight and understanding.
January: No Salon this month
February: No Salon this month
April: What’s Possible
August: The Great Experiment
September: Everything Changes
October: No Salon this month
November: Time to Engage
Why will you love TEDxOmaha Salons?
Lively discussion that we all participate in. Smaller gathering so we all have a voice and get to know each other. By focusing on a single topic we get to take a deeper dive into subjects and get to a more granular level. We can keep that conversation and community going because we are meeting every month, and we are meeting in a really creative space.
The Salons are hosted in Kaneko’s SPACE 4, the room with Jun Kaneko’s work. Since the gallery is closed to the public on Mondays, Kaneko would like everyone attending the TEDxOmaha Salons to enter from the WEST side of KANEKO through the Library entrance on 12th and Jones. This will put you right into the space as the room is accessible through the library.
There are a few metered spots alongside the building on Jones. Recommendation is to park at the garage on 10th and Jackson.
