A century ago, the U.S. entered World War I, then commonly known as “The War to End All Wars.” Spoiler alert: It wasn’t.
Sixty years ago, many Black Americans were barred from voting, and no one could fathom the day when the U.S. would elect an African American president.
Just a quarter century ago, we couldn’t even imagine that we would gain access to nearly the entire sum of human knowledge via a device small enough to fit in a pocket.
We couldn’t imagine it because we so often forget a simple maxim of human existence: Everything Changes.
Everything Changes is the theme of TEDxOmaha 2017. We want to hear from you about the constant churn of our lives, about the difference between yesterday, today and tomorrow and about what remains the same even in the midst of this constant change. This is a call for speakers who want to tell a story about change at this year’s TEDxOmaha, to be held at Creighton University’s Harper Center on October 21.
In your application, please include the following information: Your idea, what makes it relevant in 2017 and why you are the teller of this tale. The TEDxOmaha programming team will review these applications and invite the top finalists to audition for a chance to speak at TEDxOmaha.
Thank you for your support of TEDxOmaha. The Call for Speakers is now closed.
